Reports to:

Main responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and agreeing contracts and providers for services including security, parking, cleaning, catering, technology and so on;
  • Supervising multi-disciplinary teams of staff including cleaning, maintenance, grounds and security;
  • Ensuring that basic facilities, such as water and heating, are well-maintained
  • Managing budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness
  • Ensuring that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards
  • Use best business practices to manage and reduce operation costs
  • Overseeing building projects, renovations or refurbishments
  • Helping businesses to find and relocate to new offices and to make decisions about leasing
  • Drafting reports and making written recommendations
  • Manage the maintenance of the building by performing repairs or contracting maintenance services as needed
  • Track building upkeep as well as anticipated long- and short-term improvements and maintenance
  • Keep the surrounding grounds properly cared for and landscaped
  • Interview and hire certain facility employees and contractors, such as maintenance staff
  • Respond to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the facility
  • Carrying out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
  • Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
  • Ensure health and safety policies are complied with regulations
  • Developing and maintaining quality standards.

Main requirements:

  • Proven experience as maintenance manager or other managerial role
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, repairs etc.
  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Degree in relevant field.
